Recently, we saw Rani wearing a gold chain with Adira’s name at the National Award function. It was something we could not miss noticing.

A Special Day, A Missing Piece

Rani was overjoyed when she won the National Award for her role in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. It was one of those career-defining moments. But even in that joy, something felt incomplete.

Her daughter Adira wanted to be by her side at the ceremony. In a recent interview, Rani mentioned how Adira was howling that she wanted to be a part of the award function. But due to age restrictions, she cannot take her along to the function.  Adira also said it was unfair that she couldn’t be there.

For any parent, that pain can be felt when professional happiness is mixed with the pain of not having your child with you.

As Rani said:
“She’s my lucky charm. I wanted her with me, and this was the closest I could do.”
