Why Rani Mukerji Never Takes Off Her Gold Chain With Adira’s Initials
Social & Emotional

Some jewellery shines because of its beauty. Some because of its price. But for Rani Mukerji, her gold chain shines for a special reason, it carries her daughter Adira’s love.

Recently, we saw Rani wearing a gold chain with Adira’s name at the National Award function. It was something we could not miss noticing.

Rani shared why this chain is so special to her. And the story is something every parent can connect with.

A Special Day, A Missing Piece

Rani was overjoyed when she won the National Award for her role in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. It was one of those career-defining moments. But even in that joy, something felt incomplete.

Her daughter Adira wanted to be by her side at the ceremony. In a recent interview, Rani mentioned how Adira was howling that she wanted to be a part of the award function. But due to age restrictions, she cannot take her along to the function.  Adira also said it was unfair that she couldn’t be there.

For any parent, that pain can be felt when professional happiness is mixed with the pain of not having your child with you.

The Necklace That Holds a Story

To make up for that absence, Rani had a gold chain made with Adira’s initials. It was her way of keeping her daughter close, even when distance or circumstances didn’t allow it.

As Rani said:
“She’s my lucky charm. I wanted her with me, and this was the closest I could do.”

Since then, Rani has rarely taken off the chain. It has become her reminder that beyond awards and achievements, her biggest treasure is being Adira’s mom.

More Than Just Jewellery

Every parent has their own little tokens of love. A photo in the wallet. A child’s drawing is stuck on the fridge. A small gift kept safely in a drawer.

For Rani, it is this gold chain. Whenever she looks at it, she knows Adira is always with her.

Sometimes these small things give so much strength to a parent. They secretly tell that even if we cannot be everywhere for our kids, our love can always be present.

Why Her Story Feels So Real

Parents know what it is like to balance work and family. Maybe you have missed a school event because of an important meeting. Or maybe you have had to celebrate an achievement while thinking of your child waiting at home.

Rani’s story shows that no matter how successful or famous someone is, parenthood makes us all the same.

A Memory That Became Even More Special

For Rani, that National Award already meant a lot. But she also pointed out that it felt extra special because Shah Rukh Khan also won in the same year.

So while the day carried joy, the necklace made sure it carried love too. It turned a bittersweet moment into a memory she could hold on to forever.
