A shocking incident from Telangana has come to light where a couple left their two young daughters alone at a police station after a heated argument. What started as a counselling session quickly turned into a situation that left the children scared and the police surprised.
Counselling session takes a serious turn
The couple, Ravi Kumar, who is a shop owner and Lalitha, a nursing student, had been facing problems in their marriage for a long time. They had a love marriage nearly ten years ago, but over time, they started having frequent fights.
Lalitha had earlier gone to the police to complain about their issues. To help them resolve things, the police called both of them to the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) police station in Karimnagar for counselling.
But things did not go as planned.

During the counselling session on April 28, the argument between the couple became intense. Suddenly, Lalitha removed her mangalsutra and toe rings, placed them on the table, and said she no longer wanted to continue the marriage or take care of the children.
She then walked out of the police station.
Soon after, Ravi Kumar also left the station, abandoning their two daughters behind.
The two young girls, aged 8 and 5 years, were left alone inside the police station. Officers said the children were frightened and crying, as both parents had walked away and were not answering calls.
Sub-Inspector Anwar and other police personnel stepped in to comfort them and make sure they were safe. Other officials were trying to reach other family members who could take the children’s responsibility.
When the parents could not be reached, the police contacted the children’s grandmother. She later came to the station and took the girls home with her.
For now, the children are safe, but the situation has raised concerns.
No legal case has been filed yet. However, police officials said they are keeping a close watch on the matter.
They are also trying to help the couple through counselling, with support from local community members, so that the situation does not get worse.
This incident shows how fights between parents can affect children the most.
Arguments can happen, but leaving children alone like this can be harmful and scary for them.
