Social & Emotional

Bollywood is a place where fame easily passes from parents to children. Many star kids become popular long before they even understand what fame really means. But Farhan Akhtar has chosen a completely different path for his daughters, Shakya and Akira.

He recently shared that he keeps them away from the spotlight on purpose. And the reason is simple, “Attention is something they need to earn.”

This one sentence explains his entire parenting philosophy.

Letting His Daughters Grow Without Pressure

Farhan says his daughters are growing independently. He wants them to build their own personalities without being treated like celebrities just because they are his children.

He doesn’t take them to film events, red carpets, or interviews. He wants them to go to school like normal kids, hang out with friends, try new things, and learn from everyday experiences.

According to him, childhood should be full of curiosity — not cameras.

Why Farhan Avoids the Spotlight for Them

Many star kids get attention without doing anything. This can create pressure and expectations very early in their lives. Farhan doesn’t want his daughters to feel that weight.

He believes that fame should never come automatically. If his daughters want attention one day, it should be because of their own hard work and not because of his name.

Farhan has always been open about giving freedom to his children. He wants them to try different hobbies, explore their talents, and find out what they truly enjoy doing.

Whatever they want to become when they grow, the choice should be theirs.

He believes that when children are allowed to explore freely, they grow up with more confidence and clarity about who they are.

The Social World

Social media has made life very public today. Many children face judgment, trolling, and comparison at a very early age. Celebrity children have it even harder because people constantly watch them.

Farhan wants to shield his daughters from all of this. He wants them to grow emotionally strong before facing the world.

Kids need space to grow. They need time to understand who they are. They don’t always need an audience.
