By keeping her professional life separate from her personal life, she wanted them to focus on school and friends. She always wanted them to develop their own interests and grow up grounded and independent.

It was her way of protecting their childhood from the noise that often comes with being a celebrity’s child.

It was only when Arin and Ryan went to college that they truly discovered the scale of their mother’s success. Watching her films later in life gave them a new understanding of who she was outside the home.
