Children do their best to bring a smile to their parents face, to make them proud. Board exams are one such milestone in a child’s life where they want to make their parents proud.

One such story is about Nikita, a girl from Rajasthan who scored 93.88% in her 12th board exams but could be there to see the happiness on her parent’s face.

A Bright Student with Big Dreams

Nikita lived in Sri Ganganagar which is a district in Rajasthan. She was 17 years old and was studying in a government senior secondary school.

She prepared for her exams with dedication. Like every child, she had a dream for her future.

Board exams are a major milestone in India and performing well in Class 12 opens opportunities in good colleges and a career.

In the case of Nikita, it was not just passing marks, but an impressive 93.88%. That showed her hard work and persistence. Imagine giving your best for something and not being there to taste the success.

What Went Wrong

Just a few days before the exam results, her health took a sudden turn.  Nikita became unwell and was admitted to a hospital. As per reports, she was treated for serious health problems like Hepatitis, Jaundice and Diabetes

These are all conditions that affect important parts of the body like the liver and blood sugar levels. Despite the medical care, her health kept getting worse. Doctors did everything possible but she could not recover.

Just Days Before the Result

The tragic part of this story is the timing. Nikita passed away on 20 March 2026 which was just 10 days before the board exam results were officially announced.

Her family had no idea she would not live to see the outcome of her hard work. When her results came, she was not there to know that she had done so well.

It is a heartbreak that words can't even describe.

A Family’s Grief and Pride

Nikita’s parents are daily-wage workers. For them, life has always been about struggle and the little joys that children bring into their lives.

They saw their daughter working so hard and one moment changed their lives. It was a moment they all would have celebrated together, but life has different plans.

The parents are carrying a mix of emotions, the pain of losing their child and the silent pride of her achievement.

Nikita’s story reminds us how fragile life is. As children struggle to rank in the exams, health and care must also be a priority.

Nikita didn’t get to celebrate her achievement. But her journey can inspire every student and pass an important message to parents and teachers.
