4-Month-Old Baby & A Desk-Side Crib? This Gurugram Office Is Redefining Maternity Support

The end of maternity leave often marks the beginning of a new challenge for working moms as they have to leave their baby behind. This mom, however, didn't have to make a choice because she was given a third option, one that challenges the norms but reflects trust, empathy, and what a workplace can look like for a new mother.
Instead of expecting her to adjust, the office made adjustments for her.
She returned, but she was not alone. She brought her 4-month-old baby along, and the office made space. And no — this wasn’t a one-day exception but a fully supported setup planned by her Boss and Team Lead.
What makes it special?
Unlike other workplaces where they have dedicated areas or crèches for babies, where mothers can visit during breaks, here, the crib has been set up in the work area, right next to her desk, and she can watch over her baby all the time, without missing any milestones.

Last week, she saw him roll over on his own for the first time, and the team cheered.
She can hold her baby whenever she wants and comfort him. There is a dedicated area for feeding, changing diapers, and bonding with the baby.
No stressing about whether the baby is fine.
No pumping schedules.
No emotional breakdowns
Just pure balance.
She’s Not Alone
If you are wondering how she does it all by herself, well, she is not alone. The whole team is there to help her.
When work gets busy, the baby isn’t alone. Someone or the other steps in. Her colleagues take turns checking on the baby, play with him, and make funny faces to keep him entertained.
And at the center of it all is her team lead, Namrata, who has become the baby’s best friend.
In a time when conversations around work-life balance are louder than ever, this one example speaks volumes.
You must be wondering,
Which company is this?
Because honestly, this is not normal.
Not yet.
But maybe it’s high time we start normalizing it.

This isn’t just a story I came across online nor did I interview anyone for this.
I’m living it.
This story is about me, my baby, and my workplace - Parentune
Yes, I have a crib next to my workspace, and yes, I can spend as much time with my baby as I want.
Does it hamper my work? To some extent. But the deadlines are adjusted. I have all the support I need, and when I am working on something important, Namrata or someone else steps in.
So, no, I don't have to choose between deadlines and feeding time.
And the people who made this possible?
My boss, Nitin, my Team Lead, Namrata, and the whole team.
I’m a content writer.
I tell stories for a living.
And this one is very close to my heart.
Because this is mine.
