She Offered Chocolates to a 4-Year-Old….And Then Forced Into This Horrific Act

A shocking incident has come to light in Boduppal, Hyderabad. A woman forced her co-sister’s four-year-old son to consume acid by misleading him with a promise of chocolates.

The incident reportedly took place on April 9 at the family’s residence.

According to police, Manjula, the accused woman took the child into the kitchen and offered him a drink, claiming it was fruit juice. To convince the child, she promised him chocolates if he drank it.

The child was not aware of the danger and he consumed the liquid. Later, it was found to be acid.

Soon after consuming the acid, the child fell seriously ill and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors treated the boy and he was discharged on April 12. His condition is currently reported to be stable.

Complaint Filed and Investigation Begins

The child’s mother, Parvatam Sandhya filed a complaint with the Medipally police station on Wednesday.  A case was registered against the accused.

Police found that the accused woman, Manjula and the child’s mother, Sandhya are married to two brothers and live in the same household. Sandhya has one daughter and one son. Manjula also has a son.

The Motive

During the investigation, it was found that Manjula was upset over perceived unequal attention within the family. Police said she felt that her in-laws were giving more care and importance to Manjula’s son than to her own child.

The situation reportedly escalated further after the child’s grandfather got a tattoo of the boy’s name. This added to her anger.

And this was not the first time. Sandhya told police that once when her son was playing in the bedroom, Manjula had covered his mouth and nose and held his hands tightly. When questioned, Manjula reportedly said that she was just playing with the children.

On another occasion, Manjula allegedly took the boy upstairs and made him sit on the building railing without any support. The father in law noticed this and immediately intervened.

A case of attempted murder has been registered against the accused woman.

The investigation is on and further action will be taken based on the findings.
