Identifying Child`s Interests

When you hear the name Amitabh Bachchan, you instantly think of stardom and fame. But his granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, has chosen a very different path for herself.

Instead of joining the world of films like her grandfather, she has decided to work in her family’s business, which is a company worth ₹40,000 crore that builds tractors and machines for farmers.

From Star Family to Business World

Navya belongs to two very powerful families. On one side, she is the granddaughter of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. On the other side, her father, Nikhil Nanda, is the Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota Ltd. It is a leading company that makes tractors, farm machinery and construction equipment.

Acting was an easy option for Navya due to the family background. But Navya wanted to do something different, something that challenged her and made her proud in her own way.

She decided to learn everything about the family business, right from how tractors are made to how farmers use them.

Why Navya Said No to Bollywood

Most children from film families usually join the film industry. But Navya said a clear NO to acting.

In interviews, she shared that she never felt drawn to the glamour of Bollywood. Instead, she wanted to make a real difference in people’s lives, especially in agriculture and rural development.

She believes that India’s growth depends on its farmers, and by improving the agricultural sector, she can play a part in shaping the country’s future.

Learning the Business from Scratch

Navya did not start in a fancy office or a high post. She joined Escorts Kubota in a junior role to learn the basics.

During her training, she even spent time on the factory floor, assembling tractors with workers and understanding how each part works.

She once proudly said, “I can assemble a tractor on the shop floor.”

Navya also decided to continue her education and enrolled in IIM Ahmedabad to study management and strengthen her knowledge.

Inside the ₹40,000 Crore Empire

Escorts Kubota Ltd, where Navya works, is one of India’s biggest companies in the farm equipment sector. The company makes tractors, engines, and other tools that help farmers work more efficiently.

It’s valued at over ₹40,000 crore, and Navya is already seen as a future leader in the company.

Her father has mentioned that she won’t be given anything easily. She will have to earn her place like everyone else.

Other Passions

Apart from business, Navya is also passionate about social causes. She co-founded a platform called Project Naveli, which works for gender equality and women’s empowerment.

She also runs a podcast called “What The Hell Navya” with her mother, Shweta Bachchan, and grandmother, Jaya Bachchan. In the show, the three generations of women discuss modern life, work, and relationships.

Navya Naveli Nanda has chosen tractors over red carpets.

She’s showing India that legacy is not just about continuing a family name. It is about redefining it in your own way.
