Whenever an actor steps away from the screen, fans get worried about whether they will come back or not. It is nothing different for Ileana D’Cruz. She had taken a backseat from acting after embracing motherhood. Now, she is a mother of two and living in Houston. Recently, she spoke about the unpredictability of the film world and her plans to come back.

Ileana’s Motherhood Journey

Ileana welcomed her first son, Koa Phoenix Dolan, on August 1, 2023, and her second son, Keanu Rafe Dolan in June 2025. Since then, she has settled in abroad with her husband, Michael Dolan.

She appeared in the Freedom to Feed live session with Neha Dhupia, where she shared her highs and lows after pregnancy. She admitted to experiencing moments of self-doubt and vulnerability:

She mentioned,

“There were times I felt I wasn’t a perfect mother. I broke down so many times, wondering if I was doing things right. But slowly I’ve realised it’s okay to have those feelings.”

The Comeback

When asked about returning to films, Ileana did not sugar-coat her reality. She confessed:

“I don’t know how much people miss me. I am aware of how fickle the world is. And I understand it. I really love my work, and miss it intensely…”

Though she misses being on-screen, her priority is clear. She wants to be with her boys. She doesn’t want to rush into projects for the sake of visibility or momentum.

Like Ileana, many other Bollywood moms have shown that motherhood and ambition can coexist.

Her fans still continue to love her the same way, irrespective of her screen presence. Her posts about parenting and motherhood struggles are getting responses filled with love and encouragement. Her connection with audiences still remains strong.
