Mother-Child bond is special. It’s the very first bond a child makes, even before she arrives in this World. This bond is rooted when a mother first conceives a baby. It is this bond, which empowers a mum to know to wake up in the middle of night and feed her baby. When I gave birth to my baby, I had so many questions too! But I have no hesitation in sharing that I learnt through trial and error – and most importantly–by having patience! My little one is 10 months old now, and I would like to share what I have learnt as a new mom.
As we all know breastfeeding is important for new born babies as Breast milk helps build and support our baby's Immunity. Mother's breast milk is rich in prebiotic HMOs (Human Milk Oligosaccharides) which leads to the growth of good bacteria in the baby’s gut. These good bacteria keep the bad ones in check and improve baby’s immunity . It reduces incidence of infections and supports overall growth & development of the baby. A healthy balance between good and bad bacteria can help the body fight off many diseases, infections and even allergies. Bacterial imbalance, on the other hand, can affect a baby's health. Prebiotics HMOs are important for a healthy gut and for developing immunity in babies. That is why Mother's milk is an essential source of prebiotics for babies and newborns.
I believe it’s important to know the ‘why’ behind the ‘what’ especially when it comes to my baby.
