In a heartfelt video released on their official IPL account, Vaibhav can be seen talking about his family’s role and contribution to his success.

“Whoever I am today, it is because of my parents. My mother used to wake up at 2 and go to sleep at 11 (PM) because of my practice and then used to make food for me too. My father left his job for me and now my brother is taking care of things. Things were very difficult at home, but God looks after those who aren’t able to succeed despite putting in hard work.”

Vaibhav’s father, Mr Sanjiv Suryavanshi, spoke with PTI about the immense sacrifices that the family made to make sure nothing held him back from realizing his dream. "It's a big investment. Aapko kya bataye humne toh apna zameen tak bech diya. Abhi bhi halat pura sudhra nahi (We even had to sell our land. Even now, things haven't fully improved)." he revealed.

Sanjiv believes that Vaibhav is not just his son, but the son of all of Bihar. He recalled how Vaibhav used to work hard to achieve his dream of playing cricket and how he used to take him to Samastipur for coaching. All the efforts and sacrifices paid off when Vaibhav proved his mettle on the pitch.

In case you are wondering, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for a whooping bid of 1.10 crore.
