Breastfeeding & expessed milk related issue
Created by Updated on Dec 15, 2018
My baby is 5 months old and she is completely on breast feeding. If I have to go outside for some work for 2-3 hours then I leave my baby back at home with a bottle of expressed milk but most of the time it so happens that my baby doesn't drink the milk and prefer staying hungry but as soon as I come back she readily accepts breastfeeding. Why this happens do know the reason either it is the fault of the bottle & nipple or it is because I don't keep the expressed milk in the refrigerator as I have to use it within 3-4 hours or the problem is something else that my baby doesn't want to have milk from the bottle???Please guide me because if this continues it will be difficult for me to leave my baby back at home.

hi minu! your baby hasn't taken to thr bottle as of now. one of my family members had a similar challenge and then someone recommended her these bottle teethers/nipples which are closer to natural shape. you would find them in the market/online. that helped the baby take to the bottle. try it and see once pls.

hi Minu Maheswari !if she is not accepting expressed milk, u could feed her just before leaving and immediately after coming back... babies avoid the alternative due to nipple confusion .or else u could try again making sure milk is lil warm by keeping the bottle in lukewarm water. even consider changing the nipple as Nita has suggested.
