My baby latches on a single breast for more than an hour sometimes.. Is that normal? He is full cos he burps n even spits up milk after that.. But is still generally crying n appears not satisfied.. It is difficult to know whether to feed more or just get him quiet by distracting him..

hi Tanushree S ! u could feed for 20 minutes on a breast , then burp the baby, give a break of 15 minutes that again feed on the other breast..... he is just suckling to soothe himself and in that process he overfeeds himeself and vomits and the entire effort goes waste.

Thanks for your reply. But won't removing the baby's latch cause him to get more irritable? Plus it's not easy to release the latch..
