when my child suffers from cold, i give him patanjali divya shvasari. doses around 1 ml mixed with water to make 3 ml or i mix it with patanjali honey. Within a week it gets cured, as it is ayurvedic

u can also add Nilgiri oil(eucalyptus oil) in the water and give steam.. also apply it lil on the collar so that the smell goes on while breathing. It worked for my son.

You can apply kapoor oil , a little warm and apply , you can also give steam..
