When was the last time you craved to eat something really bad?
It is day 124 of my pregnancy, and I am at that point where I crave food not once a month, not even a week, not even a day, but all the time.
Today’s craving list?
Litti Chokha
Pakhala Bhaat
Boiled eggs
Alpenliebe candies

I did manage to eat the last one, tho, Thanks to my colleagues who went hunting for the candies because I wouldn’t stop whining about the same.
I have always been a foodie, but this is next level. It's not just ‘I want to eat this’, it’s ‘If I don’t get to eat this right away, I might burn everything down’.
No exaggeration, but I could literally take part in a food-eating challenge and beat them all (although I might throw up later)
My relationship with food ain’t that simple. I am at high risk for pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes, which automatically makes my dietary options even more restricted. But the more I can't have something, the more I want it.
I have this voice in my head telling me, ‘if you don't have it right now, you might start hating it later’. Honestly, I am not ready for that kind of risk.
For the record, I absolutely love Chinese food, but I’ve been asked to avoid it because of the MSG content. So, whenever the cravings hit. I sit down with my healthy, home-cooked meal and binge-watch videos of people eating Chinese food. It’s weird, but oddly satisfying.
For the past couple of days, I have been eating khichdi every single day.
Not because I’ve been advised to, but simply because I love the taste. I actually find myself daydreaming about relishing the hot bowl of green moong dal khichdi ordered from Zomato, paired with the sweet and sour mango chutney that my friend Prachi brought from her home.
It’s officially mine now, and I have no shame in saying it.
After all, a prego mom’s gotta eat what a prego mom’s gotta eat.
